This is a lovely 1940s styled war time tea room. I had a big slice of delicious coffee and walnut cake and a mocha with a spit fire dusted on the top of it. There is so much memorabilia to look at and enjoy. Fantastic.

My second visit, just as charming as the first. It's a lovely stop before getting to the coast. I don't remember it being quite as "Quirky" in the service aspect last time, but front of house team were very pleasant even though they were clearly rushed off their feet, and if "NO SUBSTITUTIONS" is the chef's way of handling a busy cafe, well, fair enough, it's plastered all over the menu so can't say we weren't warned 😁 brilliant that it's so dog friendly and the dog certainly remembered ordering the dog's dinner and was grateful they still do that 💕

Love this place! Fun and tasty. Fabulous atmosphere. They have a #vegan menu also! Warm crackling real fire, very inviting and evocative. Great parking. Outside space for your bikes. Great prices. Do it.

We went two times after watching seals on the beach. I had hash the first day and a full breakfast the second day. I really enjoyed the WWII inspired atmosphere. We’re from America so we didn’t know about Dad’s Army, so before we went home I bought the dvd of the tv show to watch back home. I think this is a fun restaurant with friendly service and good food.

Used to come here as a kid, so was so excited to visit only to find you were closed! Update your Google until your open again, your wasting people’s time!

What a fabulous little tea room! Wartime ambience, warm cosy atmosphere, with log burner and gentle vintage music. The food was fantastic, we had cheese toasties and an all day breakfast. The quality and portions were great. The sausages and bacon delicious!! Well cooked, great quality food and a pot of tea with china teacups . Lovely friendly staff to top it off. Thank you, x

We were a group of four adults and two teens and were greeted and sat at a table with no trouble. What a quirky place, such fun to sit in. One adult had a meal and the two boys did too. The food was hot, plentiful, delicious and arrived in good time. The rest of us opted for toasted tea cakes and delicious warm fat scones. The lattes were not over sweet, the froth was decorated with war planes and just right after a long walk on the beach. We will definitely go back.

Just had our first visit to the amazing Poppylands following a review we saw pby ‘Gary’s Eats’…….absolutely amazing quality breakfasts, l had the evacuee and a side order of bubble and squeak…..faultless, staff friendly, value for money, quality ingredients, 1940’s setting and memorabilia brilliant, dog friendly…..what an absolute gem of a place…..will certainly be back, Frank, Lisa & Ted

Lovely for tea and cake/scones; other food was disappointing. Extremely busy and service is brusque/slow (and lots of very surly other customers, have no idea why when it's in such a beautiful area!). Nice enough place for a pitstop. The wartime vibe isn't particularly my bag but I appreciated the historical attention to detail

Really sorry for this review as we haven't eaten with you, Drove for an hour to visit today, really looking forward to eating with you. When we arrived both gates were open but signs said Closed, website said open 10- 3 only 2 cars parked by the building but not in car park, lights were on but seemed like no one at home. Several other customers were faced with the same uncertainty and like us drove away. Drove past later and one barrier was shut, were you open or not, very unclear message
